Privacy Policy
- Hairify lets you preview new hairstyles on your own photos using AI. Your photos are processed only to create these previews — we do not use them to identify you.
- The app is supported by advertising. Third-party ad partners may collect device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads.
- On iOS, ad tracking that links your activity across other companies' apps only happens if you allow it through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- You don't need to create an account to use Hairify. We don't sell your personal information.
- You can control camera and photo access in your device settings, and you have rights to access or delete your data (GDPR & CCPA).
1. Who we are
Hairify: AI Hair Changer ("Hairify", "the app", "we", "us", or "our") is an iOS application developed and published by EXO Studio, based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Hairify allows you to try on different AI-generated hairstyles and hair colors using photos you provide.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we handle when you use Hairify, why we handle it, and the choices and rights available to you. For any questions, see Contact us.
2. Information we collect
We aim to collect as little information as possible while keeping the app functional and supported by advertising. You are not required to create an account to use Hairify.
Photos you provide
When you use Hairify's core features, you select a photo from your photo library or capture one with your camera. This image is used to generate hairstyle previews.
Advertising and device information
Hairify is supported by ads. To display and measure advertising, our third-party advertising partners may collect information such as your device's advertising identifier (for example, Apple's IDFA where permitted), a non-permanent device identifier, IP address, device type, operating system version, and interactions with ads (such as views and taps). On iOS, any tracking that links your activity across other companies' apps and websites is only performed if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.
Diagnostic and usage information
We and our providers may collect limited technical information — such as crash logs, performance data, and basic usage events — to keep the app stable and to understand which features are used. This information is not used to identify you personally.
3. How data is processed
To generate a hairstyle preview, the photo you select is processed by our AI image-processing service. Processing may occur on your device and/or on secure servers operated by our processing providers, depending on the feature you use. Your photo is used solely to produce the requested preview and is not used to build a profile of you, to train unrelated systems without your involvement, or to identify you.
Advertising information is processed by our advertising partners to select, deliver, and measure ads within the app. Diagnostic information is processed to detect and fix problems and to improve reliability.
4. How we use information
We use the information described above for the purposes set out below. Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, our legal basis for each purpose is indicated.
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Photos you provide | Generate AI hairstyle and hair-color previews you request | Performance of a contract (providing the app's core feature) |
| Advertising & device identifiers | Display, personalize, and measure in-app advertising | Consent (including ATT where required); otherwise legitimate interests in showing non-personalized ads |
| Diagnostic & usage information | Maintain stability, fix crashes, and improve features | Legitimate interests in operating and improving a reliable app |
5. Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted third parties to operate Hairify. These may include:
- AI image-processing providers that generate hairstyle previews from the photo you submit.
- Advertising partners that supply and measure the ads shown in the app.
- Analytics and crash-reporting providers that help us keep the app stable.
These providers may process information on our behalf only as needed to perform their services, and they are required to protect it. Advertising and analytics services provided through the App Store platform are also subject to Apple's own terms and privacy practices.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited situations:
- With service providers listed above, so they can perform their functions (for example, processing your photo or serving an ad).
- With advertising partners, who may receive device and advertising identifiers as described in Section 2. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), sharing identifiers for cross-context behavioral advertising may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing"; you can opt out as described in Your rights.
- For legal reasons, if required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users, the public, or EXO Studio.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this policy.
7. Data retention
We keep information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:
- Photos: processed to create your preview and retained only for as long as needed to deliver that result. Where processing occurs on servers, the source image is deleted shortly after processing; images kept on your device remain under your control and can be removed at any time.
- Advertising identifiers: retained by advertising partners according to their own retention schedules. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings.
- Diagnostic data: retained for a limited period sufficient to investigate and resolve issues, then deleted or aggregated.
8. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and loss, including encryption of data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to it.
9. Device permissions
Hairify requests the following device permissions. You can grant or revoke each of them at any time in your iOS Settings. Denying a permission may limit related features but will not prevent you from using unrelated parts of the app.
| Permission | Why it is used | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Capture a new photo to apply AI hairstyles | Optional — only if you take a photo in-app |
| Photo Library | Select an existing photo for a hairstyle preview and, if you choose, save the result | Optional — only when you pick or save a photo |
| App Tracking Transparency | Ask your permission before tracking is used for personalized advertising | Optional — you may allow or decline; ads still appear if declined |
10. Children's privacy
Hairify is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address in Contact us so we can take appropriate action, including deletion.
11. Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion of your personal information.
- Restriction or objection to certain processing.
- Data portability, where applicable.
- Withdraw consent at any time, including by declining or turning off ad tracking via App Tracking Transparency and your device settings.
For EEA/UK users (GDPR): you may exercise the rights above and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal bases are described in Section 4.
For California users (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information is collected and shared, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To opt out of ad tracking, decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt or disable ad personalization in your device settings.
To exercise any right, contact us at exostudio.feedback@gmail.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your request.
12. International transfers
EXO Studio is based in Vietnam, and our service providers may process information in other countries. As a result, your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions whose data protection laws differ from those in your country. Where required, we take steps to ensure that such transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements — for example, updates related to in-app advertising. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the app. Your continued use of Hairify after an update means you accept the revised policy.
