Terms of Service
- Quran Companion is free to use for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- The Quran text comes from the Tanzil Project under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 and is shown verbatim; it must not be altered.
- Prayer times and the Qibla direction are calculated estimates. Please confirm them with your local mosque or a trusted authority.
- The App is provided "as is". These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and EXO Studio, Hanoi, Vietnam ("we", "us") for your use of the Quran Companion app for iPhone (the "App"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where it conflicts with these Terms on matters it governs, Apple's terms prevail.
2. License to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, for personal and non-commercial purposes, in line with these Terms and the App Store usage rules. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent or sublicense the App, or reverse engineer it except where the law expressly allows.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the App in any unlawful way or for any unlawful purpose;
- alter, misrepresent or distribute modified versions of the Quran text taken from the App;
- interfere with or try to bypass the App's security or normal operation;
- use the App or its content to offend, mock or disrespect religious beliefs.
4. Your data and responsibilities
The App has no account and does not let you publish content to other users. Your bookmarks, reading progress, reminders and settings are stored only on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for your device, its backups and your choices in the App. If you delete the App or lose your device, this data may be lost and we cannot recover it.
5. Intellectual property and content sources
The App, including its design, code, graphics and text that we wrote, belongs to EXO Studio and is protected by intellectual property laws. Content from third parties is used under its own license:

The Quran text is reproduced verbatim. If you notice an error in the text as shown in the App, please contact us so we can check it against the Tanzil source.
6. Prayer times, Qibla and religious content
Prayer times are calculated from your location using the calculation method and Asr school you choose. The Qibla direction is calculated from your location and the compass in your device, which can be affected by magnetic interference, calibration or inaccurate location. Results can differ from the times or directions used by your local mosque or authority. They are provided for convenience only. Please confirm them with a trusted local source, especially for the start and end of fasting. The App is not a substitute for religious guidance from qualified scholars.
7. Third-party services
The App relies on services provided by Apple, including iOS location, geocoding and notifications. Their use is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy. The App may also link to external websites, such as tanzil.net. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services or websites.
8. Price and purchases
The App is currently free to download and use and does not offer in-app purchases or subscriptions. If we introduce paid features in the future, their price and terms will be shown in the App before you buy, and purchases will be handled by Apple under the App Store terms. We will update these Terms before such features become available.
9. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that prayer times, Qibla direction or other calculated information will always be accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EXO Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Because the App is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for it, if any. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
11. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Your license ends automatically if you breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law, will continue to apply.
12. Changes to the app and these terms
We may update, change or discontinue features of the App. We may also revise these Terms; the new version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If you continue to use the App after the changes take effect, you accept the revised Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to the competent courts of Vietnam, unless mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence give you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
