Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Lingua Android application ("Lingua", the "app") provided by EXO Studio, Hanoi, Vietnam ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing or using Lingua, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. License to use Lingua
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Lingua on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial language learning. You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Lingua for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
- submit content that is illegal, abusive, hateful, or infringes others' rights;
- attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, interfere with, or disrupt the app or its backend;
- probe, overload or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or the AI provider;
- use the app to generate content that violates the AI provider's policies or applicable law.
4. Your content and responsibilities
"Your content" means the text and speech input you provide to Lingua. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to submit it. You retain ownership of your content; you grant us a limited license to process it solely to provide the app's features (for example, sending it to the AI provider to generate a response), as described in our Privacy Policy. Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information you would not want processed by an AI service.
5. AI-generated content
Lingua uses automated AI language models to produce conversations, corrections, explanations, vocabulary and quiz content. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete or inappropriate for your situation. It is provided for learning and general information only and is not professional, legal, medical, financial or other expert advice. Verify important information independently. If you encounter problematic AI output, you can report it from within the app.
6. Intellectual property
Lingua, including its name, design, code, built-in lessons and other original materials, is owned by EXO Studio and protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the license granted above, no rights are transferred to you. You may keep and use the learning content generated for you for your personal study.
7. Third-party services
Lingua depends on third-party services to function, including our AI language-model provider (accessed through the OpenCode API) and the speech recognition and text-to-speech services built into your device. Your use of those features may also be subject to the relevant provider's terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
Lingua is free to use and is supported by advertising served through Google AdMob and its mediation partners. Ads are provided by third parties; we do not endorse advertised products and are not responsible for their content or for any dealings between you and an advertiser. Lingua also uses Google Firebase, AppMetrica, the Meta (Facebook) SDK and the TikTok Business SDK for analytics, crash reporting, app configuration and install attribution, as described in our Privacy Policy. Any optional in-app purchase (such as ad removal), if offered, is processed by Google Play under Google Play's terms, and refunds follow Google Play's refund policy.
8. Disclaimers
Lingua is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate. To the extent required by law, some warranties may not be excludable and this section applies only as far as permitted.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EXO Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) Lingua. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, if any.
10. Termination
You may stop using Lingua and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the app or its AI features if you breach these Terms or if necessary to protect the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the app or store listing. Continued use of Lingua after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict- of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.
