Privacy Policy
- Normal typing never leaves your iPhone. Text is sent only when you tap an AI button.
- AI suggestions come from free third-party models (OpenCode Zen) through our server. Those providers may use the text you submit to improve their models. Do not use AI actions on passwords, financial or health details, or anything confidential.
- Our server does not store your text or the suggestions. It keeps a daily action counter for a random install ID, which is deleted after about 3 days.
- No account, no sign-in. We do not ask for your name, email, contacts, photos or location.
- This version contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking SDKs.

1. Who we are
Fluentype is an iOS app with a custom keyboard, published by EXO Technologies Global Limited ("EXO", "we", "us"), Suite C, Level 7, World Trust Tower, 50 Stanley Street, Central, Hong Kong. EXO is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Contact: admin@exo.ltd.
2. What the keyboard does not collect
- Keystrokes you type with the Fluentype keyboard stay on your device. We do not log, store or upload them.
- The keyboard contains no ads and no advertising or analytics SDK.
- The keyboard never reads your contacts, photos or location.
3. What is sent when you tap an AI action
Text leaves your device only when you tap an AI button (Fix, Tone, Rewrite, Translate, Reply), in the keyboard or in the app's "Try it" box. We then send:
- the selected text, or the text before the cursor (up to 2,000 characters);
- for Reply only: the text currently in your clipboard, read at the moment you tap Reply;
- the action, tone and writing context you chose, and your native-language setting;
- a signed device token (see section 4).
This is why iOS asks you to allow Full Access: without it a keyboard cannot use the network or read the clipboard. Fluentype uses Full Access only for these AI requests. Typing works without it.
4. Install ID and device token
On first launch the app creates a random install ID. It is not derived from your device, name, email or Apple ID. The app sends it to our server once, and the server returns a signed device token valid for 30 days. The token is stored in your device's keychain and sent with each AI request. We use it only to apply the free daily limit (currently 5 AI actions per day) and to block abuse.
5. Our server and what it keeps
Requests go to our server on Google Cloud / Firebase (Cloud Functions and Firestore, USA). The server forwards your text to an AI model, returns the suggestion, and **does not store the text or the suggestion**. It keeps:
- a daily action counter for your install ID, deleted automatically after about 3 days;
- technical logs without your text: action type, which AI provider and model answered, and whether the request succeeded. Google Cloud also records standard request metadata, such as IP address and time, in its platform logs. Logs are kept for up to 30 days.
6. Which AI models process your text — please read
Requests are forwarded to free AI models run by a third party: OpenCode Zen (OpenCode, USA), currently the free model "Space Bunny". The models and providers may change.
Providers of free models may log your text and use it to train or improve their models. We cannot control or delete data those providers keep. Do not use AI actions for passwords, financial or health details, or anything confidential.
If the free models are unavailable, your request may fail (please retry later), or, if we enable it, be answered by Google Gemini on Google Cloud Vertex AI, which under Google Cloud's terms does not use the data to train its models.
7. Information stored only on your device
- Your settings: native language, default writing context, key haptics.
- History (optional, off by default): if you turn on "Save history on this iPhone", up to 100 recent AI results are stored on your device only. Turning it off deletes them. History is never uploaded.
8. Advertising, analytics and tracking
This version of Fluentype contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites. It does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission. If we add any of these to the app (never to the keyboard), we will update this policy first.
9. Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share data only with the service providers above, to run the service: Google Cloud (hosting) and OpenCode Zen (AI models). We may disclose information if required by law.
10. Security
All requests use HTTPS. Device tokens are signed so they cannot be forged. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit what we keep to the minimum described here.
11. Children
Fluentype is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
12. Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to its processing. We do not link data to your identity: deleting the app removes the install ID and history; a leftover device token expires within 30 days, and daily counters are deleted within about 3 days. For any request, email admin@exo.ltd.
13. International transfers
Our server and the AI providers are in the United States. By using AI actions, your request is processed there.
14. Changes to this policy
We will update this page and the dates above if this policy changes.
