Terms of Service
Summary
Castora is a free, ad-supported app that casts your own photos, videos and screen from your phone to a TV on your local network. It does not supply any content.
Only cast content you have the right to use and display, and do not mirror content that is protected against copying or that others have not agreed to share.
The app is provided “as is”. Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Castora (the “app”), published by EXO Technologies Global Limited, Suite C, Level 7, World Trust Tower, 50 Stanley Street, Central, Hong Kong (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. License to Use the App
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on Android devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the Google Play terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except where the law expressly allows it.
3. What the App Does
Castora lets you send photos and videos you select, and, if you choose, a mirror of your phone’s screen, to a compatible TV or receiver on the same local network using Google Cast or DLNA. Media is streamed directly from your phone to your TV and is not uploaded to our servers. The app does not include, host or sell any content. Casting depends on your Wi-Fi network, your TV and its firmware, which are outside our control; not every TV, format or network is supported.
4. Your Content and Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the photos, videos and screen content you cast and for who can see them on the TV. You confirm that you have the rights needed to display that content.
- Do not use the app to display or distribute content that infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights, including content from other apps or services that prohibit screen capture or redistribution.
- Do not cast illegal content, or content showing other people without their permission where the law requires it.
- Only cast to TVs and networks you are allowed to use, and remember that anyone near the TV can see what you cast or mirror.
5. Acceptable Use
- Do not interfere with or disrupt the app, its ads or the devices and services it connects to, or attempt to generate invalid ad impressions or clicks.
- Do not use the app in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Do not use automated means to access the app or its ads.
6. Intellectual Property
The app, including its design, text, graphics and software, is owned by EXO Technologies Global Limited or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Castora and related names and logos are our trademarks. Google Cast, Chromecast and Android TV are trademarks of Google LLC, and DLNA is a trademark of the Digital Living Network Alliance; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by these owners. Content you cast belongs to you or its respective owners.
7. Advertising and Third-Party Services
The app is free and supported by ads served by Google AdMob and its mediation partners. If optional rewarded ads are offered in exchange for an in-app benefit, watching them is always your choice. The app also uses third-party services for analytics, attribution, crash reporting and casting (Google Cast), as described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of third-party services, your TV and of any advertiser’s website or app is subject to that third party’s own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
8. Purchases
The app is free to download and currently offers no in-app purchases or subscriptions. If paid features are introduced in the future, they will be sold through Google Play and governed by these Terms, the in-app description of the offer, and Google Play’s terms and refund policies.
9. Disclaimers
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will discover or work with every TV, receiver, network or media format, or that casting or mirroring quality will meet your expectations.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EXO Technologies Global Limited and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or content, arising out of or related to your use of the app, your TV or network, or any third-party service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you in full.
11. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your license if you breach these Terms or use the app unlawfully. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability) will survive.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date. Continuing to use the app after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the laws of the country where you live.
